Lemaire Fall/Winter Ready to Wear 2017

If you are wondering what an office person should wear to work, stuck behind the desk for whole day, then the answer is in the new Fall/Winter  Lemaire line. For this line, Christophe Lemaire and Sarah-Link Tran decided to change their well-known structure, but still remain and keep up with what is trending this season: tailoring. As a key focus, all the accent was put on the suiting. Their signature style and work are violating the professional dress codes in their designs. This Fall/Winter  lineup gave the impression of stylish melancholy meditation of the classic office wardrobe.

The first piece of clothing presented on the runway was a black wool shirt dress. Then came the shirts with buttons all the way down, with extra-long sleeves. They were paired with black classic pants or below the knee skirts. The collection also features oversize ivory coat and matching wide pants, turtleneck sweater and oversized suit jacket. The whole collection expresses edgier set of muscles that kept the two designers working together. All the pieces have that “executive realness”. But they are not rough. They are soft, feminine, fit the body in a chic way. This was mostly accented in a clay colored tunic, with loose folds over white tights and shoes. The other perfect combination was the zipped gray shirt with shoulders and blouson sleeves over a straight skirt.

The emphasis is put on the large canvas totes, leather shoulder bags and cross-body styles, everything circling around and being anti-It bag. The brand and the clothing is designed for women who have work meetings and pressing concerns. The clothes send the message that you are grown-up and sophisticated. What was most recognizable is the shift in sensibility. The collection is more determined, more urgent and more commercial than the others in the previous seasons. Maybe wearing these types of clothes will not make you gain friends on your first day at work, but it will most certainly take you to the next level – cocktails. For that you can’t go wrong with grey ruffled blouse and silver metallic silk skirt – straight out of the runway.
