Every year we see new trends come and go on catwalks around the world; some we love and some we’re not too sure on. Autumn/winter 2017 is set to be a great year for fashion trends if recent international fashion weeks are anything to go by. From Milan to Paris and New York to Berlin, fabulous styles and gorgeous looks were on show as models strutted their stuff.
We have gathered some of our favourite styles for autumn winter 2017 to show you what is on trend in terms of colour and style, and what we’re looking forward to seeing more of.
The Best Autumn/Winter 2017 Styles and Trends
This look is all about dark fabrics and lots of lace. The sheer material of the outfit works well to create a light and floaty feel, but it still stays true to the gothic style. Gothic trends such as lace, high necks and stockings are going to be big in autumn/winter 2017 as they work well for both casual and smart looks. Plus, this outfit incorporates two styles that have been popular throughout 2016 and 2017; cold shoulders and a high neck.
We love the way this style uses a very androgynous, tailored suit and teams it with a very feminine skirt. This creates a great contrast and really helps the style to stand out. A masculine and feminine contrast has been popular in other years and it’s set to make a big comeback.
When it comes to a floaty and feminine outfit, this Bottega Veneta style really nails it and shows that a great tailored outfit doesn’t need to be a suit or a structured dress. Instead, this outfit is comfortable and practical but also manages to grab attention.
This sheer number is a great autumn/winter 2017 style and is worth keeping an eye on. Alberta Ferretti has created an elegant and glamorous dress out of a sheer and somewhat revealing fabric, which puts a chic spin on a classic look.
If bright colours are more your thing then you are sure to love this Alberta Ferretti dress showcased at Milan Fashion Week. There is a whimsical vibe thanks to the light and airy fabric, which makes it perfect for autumnal evenings.
Autumn and winter seasons don’t need to be all about dark colours as this Mary Katrantzou style shows. The bold and bright colours, along with the 3D detailing, works well to create a dress that will really stand out from the crowd.
If dark and understated styles are your favourite, you’ll love this look. With a high neck, long sleeves and black tights this look could blend together and appear shapeless, but with the wide sleeves and bold belted section this is avoided and it really makes a statement.
This style is a real throwback to decades past with delicate bell bottom sleeves and scallop edges. It’s a great style for work, nights out and even romantic dinners as it can be dressed up or down for a range of occasions. The dusky lilac colour of the blouse stands out well against the dark fabric of the trousers, and this bold block of colour will be seen throughout autumn/winter 2017.
