Winter Styles 2016
Just because it’s cold out doesn’t mean it’s time to cover up! In fact, winter is the perfect time to show off some spectacular outfits—whether it’s a work Christmas party, a festive dinner evening with friends, or an Xmas party. So here’s a treat for you … our favourite styles for you to try out this winter!
Romantic Winter
There’s no time more perfect to sprinkle a little winter romance in the air. Brunello Cucinelli embodied this perfectly in his Fall 2016 Ready-to-Wear Show.
He artfully blended masculine and feminine with this soft, floaty, full skirt and a tailored double-breasted jacket. The varying shades of black create an air of gothic mystery, while the sparkle lapel and bodice give a Christmassy feel.
This is an easy style to pull off, and you can finish the Christmassy vibe with a wine-coloured crushed velvet clutch.
Vintage Winter
Prada’s Fall 2016 Ready-to-Wear show was a luxurious display of women’s history, but this vintage-style dress was the star of the show for us.
In midnight blue, this full-length velvet sheath dress has long sleeves and a high collar, and is delicately embroidered in gold patterns—simply stunning. Finished with long argyle-print gloves, a boxy bag, and classic sailor hat, the outfit conveyed a militaristic splendour.
The traditional, lace-up brown boots also paid homage to the Victorian era of women’s fashion. Nostalgic, vintage, wonderful.
Cute Winter
If you’re a fan of the cute or preppy look, this winter is a great time to try a playful mix of white shirt over a corset-style dress.
Pushbutton Seoul are known for their fun, youthful vibe, and their Fall 2016 show featured this quirky little outfit that we just love!
To get the look, wear a loose-fitting, open white shirt over a black quilted, corset-bodice, long-skater-skirt dress. Finish the look with ballet flats. Super cute!
Minimalist Winter
Lemaire’s Fall 2016 Ready-to-Wear Show featured the perfect office outfit for arty types this winter. Their stunning minimalist outfits always say a lot with a little.
The figure-hugging white jumper included exaggerated blouson sleeves, a detailed cable knit, and a wide squared neckline.
The high-waisted, wide-leg black trousers have feature seams, and are teamed with sensible black shoes.
Boho Winter
This Trussardi Fall 2016 Ready-to-Wear outfit could have fallen straight out of Marc Bolan’s wardrobe. If you’re the boho or arty sort, this is the perfect style for a wintry day the office.
Featuring a mix of wintry colours—wine, burgundy, and plum—and fabrics—silks and cords, it’s truly eclectic.
A homage to the likes of Byron, there’s loose-fit brocade silky trousers, a fitted cord suit jacket, and a pinstripe brocade button-down waistcoat, and striped shirts.
For the rock-star-of-old look, finish with some statement shades and a contrast grey leather tote.
Funky Winter
In their Fall 2016 Ready-to-Wear show, Gucci offered a quirky blend of seventies and eighties funk. This jazzy sequin suit is our favourite for this winter.
With boho-bold colours in Cheshire Cat striped pink and silver, and cute black fluffy cuffs, this is a stand out Xmas night out outfit.
Finish the look off with a black choker and peep-toe heels for a night on the town.
Glam Winter
If you’re looking for a glam party outfit for this winter season, Saint Laurent has delivered. In their Fall 2016 Ready-to-Wear show, this sexy black outfit really stood out.
The black leather high-waisted trousers, oversized belt, and shiny v-neck cami are sure to turn heads. Finish off with a biker-style shoulder-padded leather jacket, a chunky gold choker, pointed heels, and bold make-up.
