Spring/Summer Bridal Styles 2017
If you’re a bride-to-be, there’s no better place to look for inspiration than New York International Bridal Week for Spring/Summer Bridal Styles 2017 ,6-13th Oct 2016). Showcasing every type of gown from high couture to mid-range, NYIBW features world-class designers in bridal wear.
This year’s NYIBW featured some of our favorite designers in the bridal fashion world—Saiid Kobeisy, Savin London, Demetrios, and Tara Lauren — as they gave us a taster of Spring/Summer 2017’s best bridal styles.
So if you’re planning a spring or summer wedding, these diverse collections have the perfect dress for any type of bride.
1. Saiid Kobeisy: #extra luxurious bride
Saiid is a dreamer, a passionate designer with Lebanese roots—and this comes out in abundance in his designs. His beautiful wedding dresses are heavily influenced by foreign culture, from damask patterned lace to Italian-inspired sheaths.
The defining factor about Saiid’s clothing is that each gown is designed to detailed perfection. His 2017 collection is a striking range suitable for all shapes and sizes— from princess A lines perfect for apples and pears to mermaid silhouettes for bananas and petites, and sheath columns for hourglasses.
Saiid’s collection is super luxurious—think tons of lace, floral brocades, and delicate embellishments. His style is classy boat necklines on sheer overlays with daringly-low V necks, figure-hugging bodices down to full skirts, and long or cap lace sleeves.
There’s a regal elegance mixed with sensual femininity in Kobeisy’s designs, and the detailed lace work and flattering shapes really embody the spirit of the passionate, beautiful foreign bride.
2. Savin London: #high couture bride
Savin London understand high couture bridal wear. Their collections: Midnight Garden, Timeless Opulence, and White Collection are simple, elegant, and unfussy. These oh-so-British designs are works of modern fashion artistry.
The Midnight Garden collection is, unsurprisingly, inspired by nature. A silk wrap-over sheath dress is resemblant of a blossoming calla lily. There’s pink and white floral lace, and A line transformer skirts that open like petals.
The White Collection is sky high bridal wear—from a feathered skirt to a side split, a pleated skirt to a tiered skirt—these are statement dresses. In every style imagine, these high fashion dresses are inspired by every era.
The Timeless Opulence collection is one of neo-classicism—modern shapes, sharp structures, and bold designs in high-quality fabrics. There’s something for every bride here—as long as you’re courageous enough to stand out.
3. Demetrios Bride: #romantic bride
Greek-born Demetrios is an icon of bridal fashion. This renowned designer aims for innovation and versatility, so his collections feature something for every type of bride. His Greek roots also make him the perfect designer for romantic brides, as his Destination Romance collection gowns are delicate and dreamy.
This collection embodies romance—flowing capes, sweetheart necklines, and feminine silhouettes. From floating silks to pretty lace, jewelled waistbands to beading and embellishments. His stand-out dresses are gorgeous 50s-inspired empire waists and figure-hugging sheaths with a neckline to suit any body shape.
4. Tara Lauren: #alternative bride
Tara Lauren was founded by two creative sisters, Tara and Shaina Healy. The alternative bridal collection is ideal for brides who are looking for something different.
Their aesthetic is natural, bohemian, and lighthearted. Their love of music and travel is embodied in festival vibe dresses inspired by the 70s. Simple shapes but detailed fabrics—delicate beading and pretty lace work are romantic and subtle. The designs are refreshingly uncomplicated, and would look wonderful at rustic, outdoor wedding.
Their 2017 “Seafarer” collection preview includes white lace over cream fitted, feminine gowns. Detailed lace patterns in geometric designs are reminiscent of dreamy natural settings, ideal for a bride looking for something out of the ordinary.
